The holographic overlay is placed on top of a printed ID card. The hologram combats counterfeiting; it cannot be scanned or copied. The film construction prevents alterations to the underlying info on the ID badge. The film also improves the durability and life of the ID badge. If removed, the holographic image will self destruct to assure the hologram cannot be transferred to another ID badge.

The overlay is constructed in one layer. The hologram is embossed on 1.5 mil thick polyester film. After embossing, a permanent acrylic adhesive is applied over the hologram.
